SkillSwap Terms of Service

Overview

SkillSwap is a platform that connects learners and project owners to exchange skills, collaborate on projects, and complete real-world tasks.

By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you may not use our services.

These Terms apply to all users of the platform.

Section 1 — Platform Use

By using SkillSwap, you confirm that:

• You are at least 18 years old, or have parental/guardian consent
• You will use the platform responsibly and lawfully
• You will not engage in fraudulent or harmful activities

Users may register as:

• Learners — individuals completing projects
• Project Owners — individuals or organizations posting projects

Section 2 — Projects & Responsibilities

Project Owners agree to:

• Provide clear project requirements
• Communicate expectations and timelines
• Act in good faith when reviewing work and marking payment status

Learners agree to:

• Deliver work based on agreed requirements
• Communicate clearly and professionally
• Submit original and quality work

Section 3 — Payments & Acknowledgement

SkillSwap does not process or handle payments.

All payments are arranged externally between users.

Project owners may mark a project as "Paid" within the platform for tracking purposes only.

SkillSwap is not responsible for:

• Ensuring payments are completed
• Verifying payment accuracy
• Managing financial transactions between users

Users are expected to act honestly when updating payment status.

Section 4 — Dispute Resolution

If a disagreement arises:

• Either party may raise a dispute through the platform
• Both parties are encouraged to resolve the issue mutually

If a dispute remains unresolved, both parties reserve the right to take legal action.

Section 5 — Trust Score & Accountability

SkillSwap includes a Trust Score to reflect user reliability.

The score may be affected by:

• Project completion behaviour
• Payment honesty
• Dispute history

This includes:

• Poor payment record
• Incomplete or late project delivery

Repeated negative behaviour may result in:

• Lower Trust Score
• Reduced platform access or account suspension

Section 6 — Content Ownership

Users retain ownership of their submitted content.

By using SkillSwap, users allow the platform to display content as needed to operate the service.

Users must not upload content that is unlawful or violates rights.

Section 7 — General Conditions

SkillSwap reserves the right to:

• Refuse service
• Suspend or terminate accounts
• Remove inappropriate content

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use means acceptance of changes.

Section 8 — Limitation of Liability

SkillSwap acts only as a platform to connect users.

We are not responsible for:

• Project outcomes
• Payment arrangements
• Disputes between users

Users engage with the platform at their own risk.
